Batch #3

Heya ! Another reappearance here after some months off, I've been struggling more than I thought with money making after moving out to Lyon, and started to get desperate when stuck in front of the
screen, making the same kind of things everydays. And as always it's in this very particular moments that your artistic self is tingling and screaming : "Heyyy ! Something's wrong here, your style has got to evolve. NOW !" Pressuring little brat... x)

Today my financial situation hasn't changed a lot, but I woke up last week telling myself I should stop lamenting inwardly like the "oh so tortured artist I am" and get back on track.. and with smile please ! :) So here I am, refreshed, updating all the medias and ready to send portfolios everywhere !

On the positive side however, I took the time to explore a little more in term of Art, participating to diverse challenges here and here, and even if the results don't satisfy me most of the time, I'm glad that I am slowly but surely making less "realistic" stuff. It strenghtens the idea that I took the right direction, which is kind of a relief for an artist like me who is interested in tons of different styles and even jobs (here you see the related problem between my mindset and finding jobs... ;)).

By the way I had a blast on the last fanart (Ganondorf from Zelda) I've done and it's the perfect example of my evolution and what I will tend to do more in the future. I learned that a simpler-looking style gives you more time to consider your lines, colors and to place your strokes, which is (at least for me) a funnier, and even smarter, way of working. I don't get lost in the details and end up bored and frustrated that way.

[Fanart] Ganondorf (Zelda) by LauraBevon

So really, if some of you are struggling with realism, trying to follow the so-called norm that the current concept and commercial art industry is sharing everywhere, please consider it's not the only solution ;)

Bullet; Red ARTSTATION

As many others I've opened an ArtStation and filled it yesterday, because it's truly a quality website to showcase your work. It's not that much community oriented so I'll mainly use it as a second portfolio.
Still, I'll be glad to see some of you joining me there, so if you have an account yourself feel free to drop the link in the comments (here or directly on AS) :)

Bullet; Red  YOUTUBE VIDEOS

Not especially new but for those who haven't seen the first video or don't follow me on Youtube, here are too others showing the same process : black and white rendering to colors.
Those vids were nice for a start and gave me the occasion to train with video making and recording. I'll consider making others when I've got some time in the future so if you have in mind something you'd like me to see covering or questions, let me know.
I also planned to get live on Twitch but, seeing my actual situation I had to delayed that a bit, but know.. that it will happen ! ;)

Bullet; Red  Last point, I had the pleasure seeing that I've got tons on new watchers when I came back here, so simply : WELCOME HERE and THANKS ! That means a lot :)
Take care of you and continue make great art guys ! :)
It's Here : LauraBevon
It's about Art.
And it's free.
So what else ? ;)

Also, my very first video is online, starring this little guy below, and my working process !

I hope this will help some of you !

And let me know if those kind of videos interest you, if you want to see more of them, if you would like to see me cover some other stuff and so on... :)
First of all, a small message who has it importance :

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! May 2016 be full of creativeness for all of you !
And thanks to all of you for following, you rocks !

I wanted to make some kind of post dedicated to features for so long now... I think it's perfect to begin the year with. So here is a little meme, thanks to Euskelo and UnicatStudio who did it right before me :)

How does it work ? Nothing simplier !

  1. "Leave a comment below and I will pick my top three favourite pieces from your gallery and put the thumbnails below.
  2. Feel free to do the same in your own journal and spread the love.
  3. That is it, really. I just like to list things in threes."

I. RevolvingStone

Shenzhen by RevolvingStone

Ruby Room by RevolvingStone
Kyoto by RevolvingStone

Great pictures here ! I strive for good composition so those one are the best for me, but also inspire me a lot. The first one "Shenzhen" has a perfect compo, guide the eye without caging it and is also really natural ! 10/10 ! The red one is absolutely hypnotizing, maybe a bit too contrasted but stays captiving. "Kyoto", thanks to the choice of Black & White, is great as well, a peaceful shot ! :)

II. UnicatStudio

Thor - Worthy (digital painting) by UnicatStudio

Erased by UnicatStudio Sunset by UnicatStudio

"Thor" is my absolute favorite here, the chosen pose is great, lines are strong and edges sharp, this portait is also less blurred than the others which is for me a good point : it's painted with confidence and simply it's great art ! "Erased" is great as well : the idea, the mood, the simple composition/layout, the texture and the guys expression, it all works perfectly ! The last one, as a speed painting, shouldn't be judged like the others, but it attracts the eye no matter what, I like it ! :D

III. AgentofMischief

Untitled by AgentofMischief

The Harbinger/Evan Pike Concept design by AgentofMischief  Baby Reaper by AgentofMischief

This first portrait is pretty crazeeeyy! but I would picture it easily in an abstract art gallery ! I'm totally not an expert when it comes to expressionnism and such but this one with its distribution of colours and B&W works well :)
"Baby" Reaper is funny, I like the patterns especially. The last one "The Harbinger" is a good start to character art, colors, so far, are choosed wisely and I can see nice details here and there on the outfit so with proper improvement on the technical side I can see this one become a nice Raven-like character.

IV. Nooknook

Tu veux echanger ? by Nooknook
6 - Artemecia - Leo by Nooknook Le marionnettiste by Nooknook

I really like the first one, colors are bright, more contrasted than the other illustrations and lines are straight. The overall silhouette works well and he is also overly cute :3 ! "Leo", the second picture, has an interesting composition, the idea is great, simple and the illustration "breaaaathe". The last one, finally, is joyful, with some minor adjustments here and there, mostly linked to anatomy, I could see it in a children book without problem :D

V. Euskelo

Lord of Misrule by Euskelo

She Is Next by Euskelo First Light by Euskelo

Well, "Lord of Misrule" makes me happy on every point so it's my number 1 : composition is great, color distribution is nice, that fantasy helm :o, and most of all... this incredible expression full of softness for a warrior ! Some parts of the illustration (back shoulder and back horn ?) might be too bright so it doesn't guide the eye perfectly but I like it anyway ! The second picture "She is Next" really is a personal choice ; it's not the best in term of compo neither from a technical point of view but I've always liked this one for it's simplicity (in the design) ! :) Last one is incredibly realistic and the everyday-life-background is a nice change ! :)

VI. nfouque

witch evolution stage 1 - WIP by nfouque

Along the Edge: winter by nfouque League of Legends: Fear the wild by nfouque

The first illustration is reaaally good, composition is nice, and the pose of this witchy girl is well done. I also like all those blue tones. The second one for "Along the edge", is also a great one, probably the best in term of light, and this painterly style is cool for environments. "Fear the wild", even if older and with a less mastered rendering, attracts the eye a lot, I like the ideas, poses and overall colours :)

VII. Just comment to be next !!! :D

  • Watching: A weird TV show...like really

Breaaaaathe in. Breaaaathe out. And write !

Such hectic months my friends since my last “real” connection in June. I think it’s time to share the story of my dA disappearance. I honestly felt a bit sad, even guilty, for not having been there for so long and able to chat with my dearest followers but I have to say that from an art and creative point of view, those months couldn’t have been better.

In fact it reminds me when I was in artschool and we had tight deadlines for our illustrations or projects ; strangely, despite the fact that I was rushed and stressed, the result was oftenly better (even if not “perfect”) than my everyday art. Adrenaline ? Well, situation was pretty the same here, with several deadlines per week during the summer, I think I’ve made, not huge, but GOOD improvements.

Bullet; Red  So, back to the point, in a nutshell, what happened in my life since June ?

>>> CLIENTS

I’ve had the occasion to work on several great projects from June to September, but as it always happen in the art field, clients all knocked at my door at the same time... :p.

    Bullet; Black  Sara King

I’m still working on her fictional universe, this time the book was about legendary creatures, so I’ve depicted the two main heroes in their human and animal shapes : one is a wereverine and the other one a phoenix.

It was this week end, by the way, and as nice as last year, so thanks to the people who came to see me and get a copy of the poster ! :D

    Bullet; Black Insectopia

The nice team behind this tabletop rpg asked for more illustrations than I thought they would, and I was really happy they did because even if it was exclusively line works, drawing insects with some human attributes was truly interesting.

Here are some examples of what I did :)

I’ve also made a concept sheet of tribal masks for an upcoming short film. Can’t tell more though :x

>>> ARTCAMP 2015

If you don’t have a clue of what Artcamp is… I talked about it here : fav.me/d8ycab5
But in few words it’s a 3 months concept art course I took ;)

Artcamp ô artcamp… what to say… it was awesome ! :)
Titus Lunter is a really good teacher, one of those who teach you to think more than to draw, which is, to me, the most important especially during a short course.

Nature by LauraBevonBuildings by LauraBevon
Robots by LauraBevonTemple by LauraBevon

Basically, and during 12 weeks, we had to choose and work on our own game project. Three thematics were given by the teacher to help us then it was up to us : synopsys, light gameplay, researches, thumbnails, concept sheets, and at least one final shot… along with various exercices.

My project is about a grandma left alone on earth while the rest of humanity flew on an orbital city. She, as a shaman, will have to wake up the nature spirits to help her in her quest of seeing her old fiancee again.

Here is most of the work I’ve done. I think this project has some potential, but it’s still in hiatus for now, I’m unsure if I should continue working on it or not.

>>> BACK TO LYON

Right after the end of Artcamp, my partner and I decided to move out and we chose to go to Lyon, the french city where I’ve done my studies, which is, for my part, undirectly linked to art, as the videogame industry here is far more developped.

Finding a flat was kind of an epic tale but it’s done now and since yesterday I can breath a little ! :)

>>> DRAWLLOWEEN

With the move, October was full of administrative shitness, and projects were over so I decided to take part to a light challenge to keep the rythm but no, not inktober… the counter-party you know : #drawlloween ! There was a theme per day based on halloween folklore. A perfect occasion for me to train my character design skills while being totally free, I’ll show you that in another journal ! ;)

Bullet; Red  And what about those improvements ?

Well I don’t know exactly, it’s still fresh, I feel like I’ve made a huge step in term or art. My skills, from a technical point of view, did not improve that much, but mentally, I learned to say NO to realism, I suddenly stopped thinking it was a prerequisite, and just had fun ! Yes, fun !

I really have to thanks Artcamp for that, because I chose to add some difficulty to the exercices and worked in a style which wasn’t really familiar (cartoon) for my game project. And again... it’s was fun ! But also opened kind of a lock in my head.

It made years I didn’t have “true” pleasure while making art, I always strive for improvement and with social networks flooding you with 3D and realistic digital art, it’s easy to be confused and label those works as “the best”, the “wanted per the industry”.

At least I did, unconsciously. Truth is I was so much obsessed with perfection while doing realistic-in-becoming pieces that it wiped all the fun away, every fucking time. And I was thinking work became boring because I was to slow to finish my illustrations, so I tried to paint faster, which left imperfections, and so on,... vicious circle, right :o

But now that I’ve lowered the level of realism in my work a bit, the level of perfectionnism follows, which gives me more time (and will !) to concentrate on technical aspects such as colors per example, to simply appreciate my own work and to avoid boredom. I feel released ~~ !

On that point my Drawlloween paintings and sketches were also a nice transition, and I hope you’ll see the difference when you’ll check them, but also understand why my style has taken a new direction.

Anyway, I think the pleasure I took while doing post-Artcamp works transcribes well in the pieces themselves, at least more than in my past illustrations.

I’m now in this childish period, when all looks new and I feel like i’ve to re-learn tons of things to improve this new style, but …

Best part of doing Art is about learning isn’t ?
-----

As always, feel free to share your thoughts about all that, or think of the question below :

  • Have some of you already made some massive change in term of style ? Why, when, how ? Share with us !

  • On contrary, do you feel blocked with a style which isn’t truly yours ? What do you think keeps you being stuck ?

  • Are you those kind of person who, like me, improve faster while being under pressure ?

I leave you there with some inspiring art from Gorrem for Gigantic. Cheers ! Hug

Bullet; Red But here's a quick journal about something I found really interesting : Flow !

I learned about it during my course, and it's also fairly related to the two polls I've done, so I needed to share it !
Flow is a state of mind, close to ecstasy, that creative people reach when they are at their best, when they find the right balance between skills and challenges. It's truly important for artist to know how it is for them I think, so I let you with the specialist in this domain : Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

It's a TED video (quality here), so there is a good subtitles system too, for kind of every language :)

If you like the psychological approach of art and creativity in general, or had/have some motivation issues, check the vid, especially the diagrams at the end. Still it's a rather quick overview of the principle so the most interesting might be his book, that I will definitively buy and read myself.
So... Amazon, my friend : Flow - The psychology of Optimal Experience !

Blue Rose (4 cards) by madnessdemon

Bullet; Red As always, let me know your thoughts about the subject :
- Is this psycho approach important to you  ? Not really ?
- Have you already read books or watch vids about same kind of subject ? Interesting stuff to share ?
- Have you any "Psycho Guru" ?

And so on... :)

Hello everybody !

I'm currently writing from the train which drives me to Paris, where I'm gonna spend four lazy days before coming back home, ready for a hectic summer. It also seems like the perfect moment for a basic "News-about-my-life" journal, isn't ?
I hope I will be able to browse dA a bit in the coming weeks, I'll do what I can for that, but I might not answer fast to your comments, please be indulgent and know that I will read them all whatever happen :)

Bullet; Red Why so hectic you'll tell me ?

Bullet; Black Well first, because I've two clients currently. So I will be working with Sara King - the sci-fi author - again, and try to bring to life some of her characters. This time it will be about scifi-ized werewolves, phoenix and the rest of the folklore, for her Alaskan Fire & Alaskan Fury books.

Remember I've already worked with her on another book, Wings of Retribution :

[MP] Howlen by LauraBevon  [MP] Dallas by LauraBevon  [MP] Dive Hard by LauraBevon
[MP] Taal by LauraBevon  [MP] Retribution by LauraBevon

I hope to bring some art of equal quality this time :)

Bullet; Black  I also got a new client, which is currently editing a french tabletop rpg called Insectopia and the topic is... I let you guess... insects ! Ugh, easy one. And you'll be able to play... insects ! Yeees !
Well with some human attributes for sure but the game is pretty awaited here, thanks to its originality, so it's a nice thing for me to work on it.
I won't tell you much for now, I'm not yet a specialist about it and it will be cooler to let the pictures talk. ;)

Bullet; Black  But even if all that is pretty good already, the thing for which I'm the most excited right now is...

Logo5 by LauraBevon
Tada~~aaam !! (Am I not good with suspens ?! 8))

I will participate to this year Artcamp and take the Environment Concept Design online class, with Titus Lunter as a teacher. Check his awesome work, you curious : :icontituslunter: :)

Illustration doesn't fulfilI me totally those times and I really wanted to delve into concept art again, yet without knowing where to start... so it's the perfect occasion.
The well-known and talented :iconsuzanne-helmigh: will scream "Present!" too, same for tons of other guys I don't know yet but will hopefully meet and work with soon.

By the way, if any of you is interested by the course, it's here : artcamp.com/

Bullet; Red Oh ! And also...

Bullet; Black  I launched the new poll "What kind of artist do you want to be". I got this stupid question in one of those stupid FB test that nobody can resist to do despite its stupidity, and ended up stuck stupidly in front of it trying to find which of the answer was the good for me. Simpliest isn't the easiest. Now, your turn :p

Bullet; Black  And I spent a whole afternoon, mostly day, cleaning my Watchlist (see related journal about the need to follow only really inspiring people) which was the right thing to do, really. Thanks to Nooknook and her great method, I now follow 180 people instead of more than 360, and 2days later, I already feel the difference. Releaaaaase.

So I leave you with a feature of random nice art I found during the cleaning :)
Take care and have a nice week guys !

Those who have read the last two journals I've written (here and.. here) about interactions on dA will probably notice the link with this post !

Bullet; Red It's a simple concept I've seen here and there on the website, and appreciated because it lets open, inspired and inspiring people meet other ones. Interested ?

Well, here we go and what you have to do is really simple :

Name 3 deviantArt Members who inspire you,

as art makers but also as human beings.

This can be anyone, preferably people you've already interacted with (no matter how), and whose presence - or exchanges with - pushes you to keep going forward with your own art, and to come here on deviantArt to share either works or advices with fellow artists.

Feel free to add one or two words to let us know why you chose those people if you want.

>>> I'll put them all on this journal, so everyone can look at others' account. You will also be able to share this list easily and enlarge your circle of meaningful contacts if you want to ! :)

Bullet; Black :icongetsuart: Because of her unstoppable will to continue working on her own universe and webcomic and to develop it day after day.

Remember that the code to display the member's icon is  :icon[name]: , where [name] is the pseudonym of the person. You can also use @[name] for a simple link.

A key to true interactions on dA.    I surely don't have it. But you may have a clue of where to find it, if, like me, you seek true interactions.
And by true I mean exchanges, real ones, not the "I love you - I love you too"  comments, but more the " I love you - I'm happy to hear so. Hey why not take a virtual coffee right now and discuss about art then love each other for a little more than just a bunch of pixels" kind of chat.

After all, we all are on deviantArt for Art. And now, I'm persuaded it's the right place for the meaningful interactions about it.
Yet.. I'm unable to make it works most of time.

Linked to my journal about interactions on dA, that you can read here, I noticed another "problem" concerning my way of using dA. And this time it's about the watch list.

I'm watching tons of people whose art inspire me greatly. And that's, in itself, the so-called problem. It's only about art.
I'm watching so many great artists and groups that I like for different reasons, that the things posted by meaningful people just get lost in the tsunami of notifications. And with the limited time I have online, I simply don't have the envy to search for it. Really.
Fact is, I'm actually using dA's watching system as I should use a site like Pinterest. Like a gallery of great things, of art I should save somewhere in case it might inspire me later, when in reality, there is few chance I'll check it later as I'm most enclined to look for inspiration through the search tool or Google when I start a work.

Obviously, I didn't get in touch with all those people I'm (not-really) following, and a good part of them being well-known artists, contact is pretty limited.

Monitor by Endling

Reason why I'll try to clean my watch list a bit, to focus on people who inspire me as artists AND humans, moreover if they are open to exchange. Lower a bit my need of being surrounded by perfect yet cold art, and raise the one of being surrounded by authentic and warm beings, if you see what I mean. Positivity !
 Cheerleader

Anyway, that's just some food for mind, in case you already felt lost yourself in front of your 10000-notifications page.

Are you watching the right people ? Those who are helping you to grow in one way or another ?

As always, I'm all hear (eyes in fact) when it comes to your advices and thoughts, so feel free to comment. :)

Bullet; Red What's coming next

A cool yet simple concept for a journal I've seen here and there, which might enlarge your community circle a bit, coming this week end. Stay tuned !Pixelist - FTU Block Bullet

I'm off for now because it took me times to write this entry and I need to eat something, you see... ;)

Star!  Update Star!

Thanks to the aaa~bsolutely kind Euskelo I got the premium far sooner than expected, so I'll be able to do polls and stuff already :)

The pool stays though and keep the same purpose :
- help me pay my premium when needed
- collect points for future contests or giveaways (or any good ideas which will comes to my mind until then)

Keep reading to know how it works !

No Star Original Post No Star

I've just added a donation pool on my page because I'd like to get the premium membership again. I usually try to get points through contests but unfortunateIy I don't have the time anymore, and like every artists out there, my wallet is totally and absolutely full of emptiness yihhha ! :)

BUT

(massive BUT)

I would prefer that's there's something for you in exchange for your points !
Reason why I'm transforming this pool in a "Get featured on my page for few points" box.

Whatever your art is about, whatever your level is, and as long as it stays SFW, your picture can be displayed here in exchange of 30 points.

Bullet; Red How does it work ?

You can donate as much points as you want in this box. But if you want to be featured the minimum amount is 30 points.

First, get the thumb code of the deviation you want me feature :

Da Thumb by LauraBevon

Then paste it in the donation pool's message box, when you are sending the points.
And....That's it ! Your donation is done and I thank you.

Your picture will obviously not appear immediately, I'll have to put it there manually and will do it as soon as I see your donation. Be patient.

Once it's there it will stays one week on my page if you gave 30pts. If you give more it stays longer !

Bullet; Red What's the purpose behind it ?

- As I explained it before, I would like a premium membership but can't afford it at the moment.
- Because you pay for it, it will push you to choose your best art only. Quality check.
- I'm also simply testing this stuff with a concrete goal, if this works and you guys shows interest, I'm gonna do it again, but with a better purpose for the points, like contests or giveaway.
I don't know exactly yet but cool thingggggs :)

Bullet; Red Why would YOU do it ?

- It's a nice yet cheap way to support me if you like my work, and i couldn't thank you enough for that :)
- I do not have the pretention to have that much exposure, but as long as someone will see my page, he will see your art as well, because this box will stays at the top.
Hopefully as my own page grows, it will become more and more interesting.
- You like this simple win-win principle.

Bullet; Red More INFOS :

- Yes, you can make a donation without wanting to participate this feature thing.
- You can feature someone else without problem.
- You can make two different donations to get more features (but I'd like to limit it to 2 per person at the same time)
- You can make another donation when the previous picture featured is removed (it can be the same)

- Questions or advice ? Just use the comments below :)

I took the permission to feature you on this thing for the first run, see it as a thanks for all those kind exchanges on the last journal if you want :)

Snow fort by IIDanmrak

After all, we all are on deviantArt for Art. And now, I'm persuaded it's the right place for the meaningful interactions about it.
Yet.. I'm unable to make it works most of time.
I'm here for several years now and I was scrolling the website pages even before I created my own account and started to post my work.

The Watchers by Yor-Art Attraction by Yor-Art

Before joining dA, I was used to small forums, full of supportive members but also challenging (yet friendly) rivals. Feedbacks, critics, long chats on non-art related subjects. THAT was great interaction and emulation. Those communities were also small enough for the good exchanges to come naturally.

But forums stopped being a solution for me, either because they started to get too much members, changed with time or simply closed; but also because I grew up on my side, both personaly and as a professional artist, and needed to broaden my horizon and public.

When I discovered dA, i knew it was the solution, both to get known and to join a great community again.
Social networks are great for marketing, but none of them gives you the possibily to be directly in touch with artist and ONLY with artists. Deviantart is here for that and that's the reason why it stays one of my favorite "networks".

sp55 by Athayar

But right now, favorite or not I can't stop getting bored as hell browsing it after several weeks, and (as you probably have noticed if you follow me) just disappear for a while, before coming back again, loving it again, and hoping again.

Hoping yes.. Each time I'm back online, I hope I'll find that key to make things work and know how to approach people the right way and push them to interact, even if after 3 months of disappearance its unlikely to happen. Because here, the community is so huge that exchanges do not come naturally, you have to make it happen ! But I do not have the good manual for that and limited time online. So I keep doing my default action : trying to upload better art and get noticed through it. Who knows...

And it's this lazy default action which is actually boring to me. Because I'm using dA the wrong way !
Making better art is obviously one of the keys to success, but it's not the key of better human interaction. You don't need to be a professional cook to talk about cooking and how to improve your skills at it.
Which seems obvious to me now, but wasn't few times ago.

Cradle of the Stars by Sentient-Phyton

Now what ?
Well I'm at that point where I'd like to communicate with the rest of you in other ways that just showcasing my stuff and looking at the pageviews counter, and this journal is a first step. I stay a pretty awkward person when it comes to this social approach but I now have the desire to try and play The Game (yes, that's a geek joke for DA:I lovers), and want to test things to get in touch with my followers in an honest way. So hail to the features, polls and other ideas which will, I hope, come to my mind _o/ !
I know there is no magic potions or so for that kind of stuff but I'd interested in hearing your insights, even tips if you have.

Bullet; Black Does some of you guys feel or have already felt the same way ?
Bullet; Black Are you working on it, or does the single thought of it get you depressed ?
Bullet; Black On the contrary are you particularly satisfied of your interactions with people on dA ?
Bullet; Black Does it stays better that on any other social network you are on ?

---

Oh, and also I started featuring some great art in this journal, cause I've seen other doing it and it's a cool way to let you discover what I like, and stop the "only me me me" approach ;)

Bullet; Red COMMISSIONS :
The second batch of commission is done, even if all of the pictures are not online yet :)

I'm taking a break with that, so they are closed for a moment !*

Please note that the next time I open them I'll concentrate on fanarts, and FANARTS ONLY (No OCs) - unless your idea is so supacool that I can't resist :p.
There will also be less choices in terms of technics and views because I'd like to improve on what I like the most, so It will mostly be... Full paintings or line works (trad/digital) - portraits and half bodies. Take a look on the Lagertha below for a good example.

To finish on that point, I also announced a raise of prices, it's still true but I didn't had the time to work on the pricelist, so I'll update this journal entry or make a new one when it's done.

*Still, if any of you is already interested tell me and I add you on the waiting list (you can retract at any time for sure, no money involved at this step) so you'll get the priority once I open commissions again.

Bullet; Red TEASING :
Lovers of werewolves, other were-stuff and the general folklore, you'll be served soon as I'll start working on another of Sara King's book end of the month, and it's full of little beasties ;)

Thanks to you guys who keep following ! :D

I'm done with the first set of commissions, so it's time to launch the second one !
Four slots were already attributed, a last one is currently available. I announce you that there will be a small raise of prices for the coloured commissions AFTER this second batch. Reason ? Time, time and time that it takes me to work on those pictures.
I will also probably close the commissions for a little time when I'm done but the Waiting List will still be there if you want to book your slot ! And remember the Waiting List isn't decisive, you can at any time tell me that you don't want your slot anymore (especially if the new prices doesn't satisfy you when I will publish them !). No harm done ! :)

I want to thanks again the five first commissioners, it was a pleasure to draw/paint your characters (or those you love !)

Hey ! I'm currently working in collaboration with Sara King to illustrate some part of her sci-fi universe. As I've always liked space pirates I chose to firstly delve into her book "Millenium Potion 1 : Wings of Retribution".

Here are sketches of three characters of the story.  More to come in my gallery in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, take the time to visit Sara's page to look at the other illustrators' works and if you like SF (and are a good reader in english ;)) I even invite you to seek for one of her books on Amazon and read one, because she objectively is a good writer  !

Remember Graal Seeker ? The game for which i've done a lot of concepts, backgrounds and UI design, has launched a crowfunding, and has now organized a sharing contest.
Just by spreading the news and sharing the page (directly on Indiegogo) you will get the chance to win a copy of the game, a beta access or even more !

[Graal Seeker] Britain's coast by LauraBevon  [Graal Seeker] UI design sample by LauraBevon

More infos about the how-to-share-correctly and the rewards right here : News Graal Seeker
And... obviously the page to share : Indiegogo Page

Every share really COUNTS, it helps the team to get known, it helps the game to raise funds, and it gives me work and prevents me to stressalldaylongaboutmoney (yeah i do), and so... make better art :D

Thanks for reading the news and lot of hugs to those who would play the game :)
